Sherpa Adventure Gear Apparel
We had the pleasure of talking with Tashi Sherpa, Founder and President who is from Nepal. Not only do we love the clothing but were moved by their story. "Sherpa Adventure Gear was inspired by the many unsung Sherpa heroes of Everest. From the start, our goal has been to create outstanding outdoor clothing and gear you can depend on.
But more than this, we want to show you a glimpse of the Sherpa culture and way of life. And at the same time support our Sherpa community back home. Whether you are looking for gear on your next adventure, or just want to learn more about the Sherpa people, you can discover all this in our website."
This summer style shirt is a real surprise. It feels, looks and breathes like cotton – but it’s 100% nylon! The yarn-dyed colors are bright and the subtle check pattern adds a depth not usually found in this style shirt. Since it is nylon, it’ll last for years and keep it’s color.
The construction is made for comfort. Side panels extend from the sleeve cuffs down to the hemline to eliminate chafing in the armpit or the sides. The single front pocket has a button and flap entry with the button set to one side for a slightly different look. Speaking of buttons, this shirt has 7 front buttons which is a feature I find especially useful when the tail is tucked in. A very good leisure-time garment great for travel or just casual wear around home.
We love that this is not just another fleece! It is streamlined, curve-enhancing fleece jacket with a little something special: a seamline “wave” flows up one arm, across the chest and back yoke, then down the other arm. This makes it dressy enough for any occasion, yet tough for outdoor activities.
Although this soft fleece is breathable, light in weight, it is just the right warmth for throwing on (alone or under a shell) when the sun sets down. If you get it wet, it dries quickly. If you spill salsa on it, no problem: spot-clean it wherever you happen to be. It has hand-warmer pockets that zip shut, and a welded zip arm pocket that secures essentials. Made of 100% Polartec® Classic Micro polyester, it is so soft our reviewer loved using it as a pillow!
When our reviewer traveled to Nepal she was fell in love with all the colors in the clothing. She also loved the lush colors of this jacket. When you don't need a full-on parka, but you do need insulating warmth that will deflect wind and cold even in wet conditions (where down won't do), this full-zip jacket is ideal. Insulated with Primaloft® One, the Vajra Jacket gives you warmth that's super compressible.
There are two zip hand warmer pockets and one zip chest pocket to hold necessities. We love the contrasting color around the collar, front, bottom and pockets and flattering fit. The collar and cuffs are so comfy, with the stretchy Lycra fiber binding. It has a durable water repellent coating. All this and it only weighs 10.9 oz.
