Review: Rite in the Rain
Waterproof writing paper and pens
This company is amazing. What a wonderful idea for anyone who is outdoors. The hassle of soggy and illegible paperwork has plagued outdoor people for decades. Their founder Jerry Darling developed the early version of Rite in the Rain paper to address that problem for the Pacific Northwest logging industry in the 1920's and their product has been evolving ever since. Still manufactured in Tacoma, Washington, USA Rite in the Rain paper is used around the globe in situations ranging from desert warfare to rainforest insect research.
Their motto "Outdoor writing products for outdoor writing people" speaks both to their expertise and focus. They are consistently seeking to improve existing products and to add new items to serve those who can benefit from their services. Their R&D department is continuously developing products for new applications and welcomes your input.
This company has such a wide variety of products, you can be assured to find exactly what fits your activities. For backpacking, we used the 3”by 5” top spiral notebook in the Cordura canvas holder with the waterproof pen. Not all pens will write in the rain! We love it so much, it stays in our everyday bag.
We like the options of a hardbound book for when we are going to trade shows. This makes taking notes standing up much easier. You can pick between different sizes, different bindings, and different page patterns. We are outside so often, we have converted to using this paper for every activity. The best part is all these products are very reasonable!
