Balance Slackline

We are always looking for ways to increase our balance since it gets worse as we age, and also increase our core muscles. At first, we thought slacklining was just for the young. We spoke with the owners and they assured us we would love it. We set it up between two trees, and fearful of falling, had someone there to catch us before we crashed and burned.

This fear is eliminated by using two hiking poles to help us get on the line, balance on one foot and then bring up the poles. We have it set up in our front yard and love going on it to see if we can continue to increase the seconds we can balance. A few minutes of exercise, and we can feel all our muscles working. So much easier and more fun than going to the gym.

Slacklining is the act of balancing along a narrow, flexible piece of webbing usually low to the ground. Originating in the climbing world, it has become popular for balance training and now, thanks to Gibbon, is available to everyone. The 2" webbing and ratchet tensioning design make the Gibbon line friendlier to walk on and easier to set up. No additional tools or rigging are needed; just the kit and a couple of trees and you're ready to go.
