Birkis Footwear
Birkis is a company that makes comfortable footwear from sandals, clogs to shoes. First let us clear up a common misconception about Birkis. They are a licensed brand of Birkenstock and of the same high quality—not a discount brand. Their products will have either a PU-footbed or a cork-footbed. Their design provides great arch support and stability. On the Birkis website, they have an entire section dedicated to “Active Recovery”. That is so near and dear to our hearts and our section on health. Foot care is paramount when out enjoying the world and staying on the move. We have found that Birkis does a fantastic job of helping us enjoy the adventure and getting back out the next day.
The Skipper is a great sandal to just slip on and get going. Their patented cork soles make this a very comfortable choice every time. The arch support is consistent and forms to your foot with wear. We recommend giving the Skipper about 10 wears before you consider it formed. Wear them in comfort and go forth on your adventures.
The Santosa is perfect after an active day on your feet. We tried them out at camp after hiking the Manistee National Forest or just for a walk in the park. After being worked in the cork-footbed contoured to the testers’ feet. Once that happened the arch support really helped in the recovery stage of being active. We highly recommend the Santosa for a day at the farmers market, after an active day on your feet or just relaxing for dinner and drinks with friends. Enjoy in good foot health.
