Acorn
Shoes Boots Slippers
Acorn products reflect the closely-held values of founder David Quinn, who started the company in 1976. His goal was to bring the "Comfort on Earth" to consumers who value quality, workmanship, and performance. From the original Slipper Sock to technologically advanced indoor/outdoor footwear, Acorn now offers consumers an expansive and varied collection of indoor and outdoor footwear appropriate for all seasons.
Quinn's first product was the iconic Slipper Sock. In 1982, Quinn leveraged the visibility provided by NASA astronauts' use of the Slipper Sock while in space and transitioned Acorn from a cottage business to a high-profile, profitable manufacturer. Since then, astronauts have worn the Slipper Socks on NASA shuttle missions, logging more than 500,000,000 miles in their Acorns. The Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum has a pair of the slipper socks on permanent exhibit.
Since its founding, Acorn's mission has remained consistent: to provide 'Comfort on Earth' to the world one pair of feet at a time. Acorn's commitment to comfort is at the fore of each collection, while new designs incorporate the latest lifestyle influences, consumer input, and always the very best quality.
Acorn is known for style and comfort and these moccasins don’t disappoint! Our tester has high arches and found the stretch gussets on each side made them really easy to get into. These atttractive moccasins feature soft, chunky Italian, wool-blend, knit uppers with water-repellent suede detailing. The sport-mesh linings provide efficient moisture wicking and are treated with Agion to keep them bacteria and odor free, which not only makes the wearer happy but everyone around him!
The removable footbed of molded PU is fully contoured with an anatomic arch support. The outsoles are a new, lightweight and flexible rubber, hand-pressed with natural jute fibers. Since these can be worn indoors and outdoors, and are extremely comfortable, it is easy to see why these get worn for everyday use.
Ragg Time Moc for Women and Men
When it is cold out, the first pair of slippers you wear in the morning can make all the difference in your mood upon waking. This Acorn classic has ragg wool-blend uppers, yet the reviewer is allergic to wool. She had now reaction to these. The fully lined in soft wool-blend berber fleece and the Durable suede detail on topline and canoe moc sole makes for wonderful comfort.
Acorn high density comfort foam heel to toe with raised EVA heel wedge for stability and support and the Non-slip weatherproof sole for indoor/outdoor wear, whether it is going to the mailbox or slipping on after skiing. Our female reviewed the yummy red color and our male reviewer loved the off white with brown trim.
Tech Travel Wrap Slippers for Women
We thought we had gone to heaven with these slippers! We received them at the Outdoor Retailer’s Show and used them for the plane ride home. They are tough enough to wear outside, yet so light and comfortable, they are the first to get packed. We love having a slipper that weighs next to nothing, yet can be used for multiple occasions. Natural bamboo twill uppers and microknit suede linings on graphite/mod geo make these fashionable enough that they don’t look like slippers. The toggle bungee tightens for secure fit and there is a Comfort cushion insole heel to toe. They even come with travel pouch for easy packing.
EarthRoamer Mule Shoes for Women
Our reviewer found these shoes are great for all year round. She loves having a comfortable mule that is as comfy as a slipper but looks great with jeans. These mules feature easy-care poly canvas uppers and the suede upper detail is treated to be water repellent. The sport mesh linings are even treated for anti-microbial and anti-odor benefit.
It is easy to see why this slipper is a kid-sized classic! This classic Acorn slipper has been down-sized for kids which makes it the prefect slipper for a 3 year old who wants to be all grown up. It features richly textured uppers and a soft fleece lining that quickly wicks moisture away from their skin. The memory foam midsole over a comfort cushion layer of featherweight EVA guarantee comfortable, happy feet. Non-slip weatherproof outsoles and durable, suede sidewalls are perfect for indoor/outdoor use.
Tex Easy Bootie Slippers for Kids
Our reviewer has an 18 month old granddaughter. Have you ever tried to get slippers on a child that age? Well, these slip on so fast and are so cute, the little one was dancing in them like a princess!
These cozy pull-on booties feature fun textured uppers and soft, spa terry linings. The heel-to-toe comfort cushion insole nestles your child’s feet while the durable, faux suede soles, with non-slip tread, provides sure footing for beginning walkers.
Even though the Slipper Sock may be the most recognizable product from Acorn for the general public, the Versafit Fleece Sock is by far the best selling and having just spent the past month wearing them on a daily basis it's not hard to see why. These socks are very comfortable, from the just-right fit that holds its shape after repeated wearings to the flat-lock seams to the warmth –without- weight fleece. Acorn's slogan of "Comfort on Earth" is nowhere more evident than in this product.
The sizing seems to run quite true to the standard US shoe sizes and there are dozens of proprietary designs to choose from to match any style or mood. In addition to their fit and looks, the fleece is quite good at wicking moisture away from the foot to prevent odor build up. One initial concern proved to unfounded – would they be too slippery to wear safely on wood floors and stairs? Not a problem. Certainly not as secure as a rubber-soled slipper but also better than standard socks. As for easy care, they're machine wash and dry.
